The new regime in Kansas City decided not to keep Steve Breaston for the 2013 season but it looks as though the WR may end up back with the man who brought him to the Chiefs in the first place.

Breaston is reportedly drawing interest from a number of teams, including the Pittsburgh Steelers, where former Chiefs head coach Todd Haley is the offensive coordinator.

From Jason La Canfora:

"The Steelers are the favorite to land wide receiver Steve Breaston, according to league sources.Breaston, released by the Chiefs, has drawn interest from several teams, including the Browns, but a return to his hometown of Pittsburgh is likely at this point, sources said. Breaston excelled for Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley when they were with the Cardinals.Though there are some concerns about Breaston’s health, he is seen as a good fit with the Steelers. Pittsburgh is preparing to lose receiver Mike Wallace to free agency and is looking for depth at the position."

Breaston ending up in Pittsburgh is a pretty logical outcome. Haley coached Breaston in Arizona and courted him to come to Kansas City.

Breaston’s best seasons as a pro have all come under Haley so he will likely feel comfortable reentering that offensive system.

Do you think the Chiefs made a mistake by cutting Breaston?
