Chiefs To Interview Falcons’ Keith Armstrong

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly going to interview Atlanta Falcons special teams coach Keith Armstrong this week.

Armstrong is second name we’ve heard connected to the Chiefs vacancy. He is also the first minority candidate. Thanks to the “Rooney Rule” all NFL teams must interview at least one minority every time they search for a new head coach.

Armstrong is also the second candidate from the Atlanta Falcons coaching staff. The Chiefs are likely rushing to interview any possible candidates from playoff teams on a bye this week.

With Clark Hunt running the coaching search, it appears as though we will get a lot more info this time around than we did when Scott Pioli was running the show. Pioli is notoriously secretive. At this rate, we may know the identity of every candidate Hunt interviews, which is fine by me.

I’m happy with the first 2 interviews. Hunt just needs to stay on top of it!! We need someone who can groom a QB of the future. Cassel has got to be gone!!!

Really. from special teams coach to HC. Pretty big jump. I am not unhappy with the first 2, more like numb.

Doesn’t the fact that he is interviewing with other teams say anything?
