Allen Bailey’s season is over.
Adam Teicher of the Kansas City Star has tweeted that the team has moved Bailey to injured reserve with an ankle injury.
Taking Bailey’s roster spot is LB Leon Williams, who the team cut earlier this year.
Earlier today I said it was best for the Chiefs to proceed with caution since the playoffs are not out of the picture. It appears that is what they are doing with Bailey. Chances are they determined that his injury would sideline him for most of the rest of the season. With only a few games remaining, we are likely to see more and more players heading to IR to make room for players that will be able to get on the field down the stretch.
This might mean more Shaun Smith, which I am cool with.
