Matt Cassel Will Not Practice Wednesday

According to Kansas City Star reporter Adam Teicher, via Twitter, QB Matt Cassel has not been cleared by doctors to practice today.

This is smart because the team needs to put Matt Cassel’s safety first. Head injuries are very serious and some heal much faster than others. For instance, Josh Cribbs of the Cleveland Browns took a very scary looking hit on a Thursday night and was cleared to play in the team’s next game. Kevin Boss, however, was placed on IR after a couple of weeks of evaluation by the doctors.

No Cassel today just increases the chances of Brady Quinn getting the start Sunday. If Cassel isn’t able to go tomorrow, I’d say that almost guarantees Quinn will start, as Cassel won’t have had enough time to prepare.

What do you think, Addicts? If Quinn plays well and the Chiefs win on Sunday, should he keep the job after the Bye Week? More importantly, do you think the Chiefs will let him keep it?

I say let Brady Quinn keep the job regardless. Ya sure he could come in and light it up. Just out of sheer excitement goining off adrenaline and instinct. But also the chance that he is more than surely rusty as hell. But as long as he doesnt “Cassel the place up” he should get more than one chance to get some sort of rythm with the first team. Lets say he does perform well this season but we miss the playoffs, and by some act of congress the chiefs unload draft picks to get a high profile pick in the draft next year. B.Q should then still get the opputunity to start next year. If he stinks it up …..Hey no problem. Put in Geno Smith.
I dont see how we could go wrong with that. Anyone else agree? Even a little bit??…anyone….anyone…bueller.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Cassel is the starter no matter how Quinn plays.

I think Quinn starts. Even if he wins I think pioli still puts cassel in to start after the bye week. He will not admit he was wrong.

Cassel will be announced out for the season. Quinn will get hurt Sunday. The Chiefs will hire McNabb. And I will quit watching football.

i just dont think clark will let this go on any further. the one guy that can get to pioli is clark, and clark cant be looking favoraby upon the team he owns. A lot of eyes are being paid attention to this team and that is really gaining ground. the kansas city media is turning on clark, and if cassel comes out after the bye even butt kiss teicher might say something. How could they even consider putting cassel out there if brady beats tampa?

This will be Quinn’s, Romeo’s, and most likely Daybull’s second and last chance. How many times in life does someone get a second chance after complete failure and all together as a unit as well, one might even use the word fate. I’m rooting for them to blow us out of the water and also that we draft Geno Smith.
