It is almost time for the Kansas City Chiefs to take on the St. Louis Rams for the Governor’s Cup.
This game is extremely important for the Chiefs. KC is riding high after a productive offseason and the return of WR Dwayne Bowe. Fan confidence is high and the team is coming off an almost perfect performance (for the starters at least) against the Arizona Cardinals last week.
But all that momentum could come skidding to a halt tonight if the Chiefs come out flat. I’m not saying that I expect that to happen but we can’t expect the Chiefs to dominate the entire game tonight. At some point, there is bound to be some bumps in the road.
Mistakes may happen but here is what I will be looking for tonight:
1. I want to see the Chiefs come out and continue to execute well on both sides of the ball. Last weeks things ran smoothly. I want to see that same confidence in the system this week.
2. I’ll be paying particular attention to the starting wide receivers. Baldwin and Breaston were held catchless last week but it didn’t slow down the KC offense. With extended time this week, I’ll want to see these guys get involved.
3. CB Jalil Brown. Brown will likely be covering for the injured Brandon Flowers tonight and how well he performs could give us a pretty good indication about KC’s CB depth.
The game will be starting shortly. This is our live game thread. The comments will update live. Please join us in the thread to talk live about all the action.
Now, on to the important stuff. What is everybody drinking this week? I decided to go with Harpoon IPA.
