Awesome Jonathan Baldwin Catch

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jonathan Baldwin continues to turn heads on a daily basis in training camp.

Baldwin has been the offseason rock star in Kansas City since way back during OTAs. The big WR had a very disappointing rookie season but it would appear he is ready to put that behind him. Baldwin kept his head down this offseason and returned to the team looking like a different person. He’s noticeably bigger. Whereas last season he looked thin and gangly, now he appears much more physically imposing.

But it isn’t just the weight room where Baldwin has put in work. It is clear he has been working on his route running and hands as well. AA’s camp reporters have been raving about Baldwin and our own Mike Gooding swears he can’t recall seeing Baldwin drop a pass yet.

With #1 WR Dwayne Bowe staying away from the team, Baldwin is seizing the opportunity to take over as KC’s lead receiver. If Baldwin looks as good in the preseason games as he has in practice and then translates that into regular season success, Bowe could find himself knocked down the depth chart when he does return.

For a little background on the catch below, check out a collection of tweets our friend Joel Thorman put together over at Arrowhead Pride. This pass was a sure interception until Baldwin went over the top and took it away. Just. Awesome.
