Just a few minutes ago we brought you a report from Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk that a Dwayne Bowe may sign his franchise tag soon in fear that the Chiefs will draft a receiver in the first round of tonight’s draft and then rescind the tag, thus losing Bowe $9 million.
Now Jason La Canfora of NFL Network is reporting that Florio’s report is false.
Dwayne Bowe has no plans to sign his franchise tag today, or anytime soon, contrary to a report.

The leverage plays continue. I wonder if it was someone from the Chiefs who floated that rumor to Florio in hopes of scaring Bowe into signing. If La Canfora’s report is accurate, Bowe’s camp isn’t flinching.
I don’t know. If the Chiefs are that worried about Bowe signing (and this is all just me speculating) then they should just pay the man. I think Bowe’s worth it. He’s young, he’s been on his best behavior the last two years and he’s durable. Not mention, he’s extremely talented and is the best receiver on the team. Receivers can play for a long time. The Chiefs should lock Bowe up and focus on other positions in the draft.
