Chiefs 2012 Opponents Determined

Now that the 2011 season is over for the Kansas City Chiefs, we can now accurately determine which teams they will battle in 2012.

Most of the opponents were already set, as we explained to you last week.

As was already determined, the Chiefs will play their usual slate against the AFC West. They will also take on all the teams in the AFC North and the NFC South. That accounts for 14 of the team’s 16 games.

Since the Chiefs finished in last place in the AFC West, they will play the last place teams from the AFC division they are not already set to play, which is the AFC South and AFC East.

See the team’s full list of opponents, home and away, after the jump.

Chiefs’ 2012 Opponents:

Home: Raiders, Chargers, Broncos, Falcons, Ravens, Panthers, Bengals, Colts

Away: Raiders, Chargers, Broncos, Bills, Browns, Saints, Steelers, Buccaneers

As things stand now I feel like this is a pretty balanced schedule. That can change drastically one way or another from year to year and sometimes from week to week in the NFL. For example, when we saw the opponents list for 2011, I think most of us thought the Chiefs would have their hands full with Peyton Manning and the Colts. It turns out they did have their hands full, but with Curtis Painter and the Colts.

What are your early thoughts on the opponent list?
