The Kansas City Chiefs couldn’t block the Oakland Raiders and saw their playoff hopes evaporate on a Sebastian Janikowski FG in OT.

The Buffalo Bills did their part by beating the Denver Broncos. All the Chiefs needed was to beat the Raiders and have the Lions beat the Chargers to set up an AFC West title game next week in Denver.

But they couldn’t get it done.

Richard Seymour blocked two FG attempts, including one at the end of regulation to help push the game to OT and end the Chiefs’ season.

There were a lot of opportunities for the Chiefs to win. Dwayne Bowe dropped a sure TD. Reshard Langford blew his coverage and allowed a long TD. But in the end, it was the poor special teams blocking that allowed the Raiders to steal a win in KC.

The Raider Grinch stole Christmas for the Chiefs. Oakland still has a shot at the playoffs and all the Chiefs have is a chance to play spoiler to keep the Broncos out of the postseason.

This one hurts Addicts but the Chiefs just ran out of luck this season. They have a lot to look forward to next season and some big decisions to make in the offseason. For now, enjoy your holiday and turn your attention to the draft.
