Oakland Raiders linebacker and first round draft pick Rolando McClain has been arrested in Decatur, Alabama.

McClain, who was evidently in Alabama to attend his grandfather’s funeral was present at the scene of a fight where a man was shot.

The news has been trickling out throughout the afternoon. At first it was just being reported that McClain was present and that the police were investigating.

Now we are hearing that McClain has been arrested.

Decatur Police Lt. John Crouch told Comcast SportsNet that McClain is in jail.

“I can tell you that Rolando McClain is under arrest,” Crouch said. “He’s been charged with third degree assault, menacing, reckless endangerment and discharging a firearm in city limits. He is still in custody.”

In 2010 McClain was a favorite potential draft pick of many Chiefs fans. Kansas City instead drafted Eric Berry and McClain went to the Raiders at #8. He is the cousin of Kansas City Chiefs FB Le’Ron McClain.

This is the second time McClain has been around for a shooting. His car was reportedly shot at in Decatur in Jan. 2011. It was unclear to police if the shooter knew the car was McClain’s.

Bad news for the Raiders.
