Chiefs Get Trounced By Patriots 34-3

The Kansas City Chiefs put up a fight, but in the end the couldn’t muster enough offense to hang with the New England Patriots.

The Chiefs kept things close in the first quarter. A solid game plan led to three first half sacks and the Chiefs went into the break trailing only 10-3.

The Patriots, however, would adjust. They drove down the field for a TD on their first possession of the second half giving themselves a 17-3 lead.

From there, the route was on.

The Patriots went on to return a punt for a TD and added another field goal to make the score 27-3 at the end of the third quarter.

Tyler Palko has an up-and-down game. He did some things very well, but also threw a few errant passes that led to three New England interceptions.

It was obvious as the night went on that the Chiefs just didn’t have the talent to hang with the Patriots. The injuries have mounted up on the Chiefs and as they now fall to 4-6, their season is slowly starting to turn into one of evaluation.

I know it is a bummer to have another lost season but I do believe the Chiefs have a bright future. They have a lot of big question marks but they also have a lot of talent. If they make the right moves the rest of this season and in the offseason, 2o12 just might be a different story.

We’ll be back tomorrow with more coverage. For now, we know there is a lot of bad. What did you see tonight that you liked? Particularly from KC’s young players?
