Report: Jamaal Charles Out For The Year With ACL Tear

I wish I could say I didn’t see this coming, but according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, RB Jamaal Charles has torn his ACL and will miss the rest of the season.

Schefter cites an unnamed source. Charles is expected to have an MRI tomorrow to confirm the bad news.

Hate to be the grump with the bad news here, folks, but the Chiefs are pretty much done for. To date they have now lost Jamaal Charles, Tony Moeaki and Eric Berry. This team is just not deep enough to recover from something like that. Besides, even with these guys, they were playing like garbage.

The silver lining? The Chiefs were probably toast this season anyway. At least Charles won’t be taking another season of wear and tear in a lost year. Here’s hoping he can heal up and get back in action next season.

Some therapy via the AA official theme song for the 2011 Chiefs after the jump.
