Looney: Quinten Lawrence Moving To Defensive Back

Just a quick not to let you all know that according to Josh Looney via Twtter, WR Quentin Lawrence will be moving to defensive back this season.

Wait. What?

Quinten Lawrence is moving from WR to DB. He’ll wear #31 this year instead of #14. Lawrence was a 6th round pick in 2009.less than a minute ago via TweetDeck Favorite Retweet ReplyJosh Looney

See! It’s true. Unless Looney is high. We could always hold out hope that he is just high.

Lawrence, a 6th round pick in the terrible 2009 draft class, is moving to DB? I mean, I guess they say that DB’s aren’t receivers because they can’t catch but Lawrence can’t even get open for long enough to get a ball thrown to him. We’re talking about a guy who couldn’t beat out Jeremy Horne, Verran Tucker and freaking Chris Chambers. His best play in a Chiefs uniform was a freaking end-around.

But hey, what do I know? Maybe Lawrence is the next great dime corner for the Chiefs. Maybe he’ll replace Eric Berry at SS. Only time will tell.
