I feel like I have been typing the same thing over and over and over and over and over again but it looks like I am going to do it again.
The NFL lockout could be over soon.
ESPN is reporting that there was a major breakthrough in talks between the players and owners today. They are also reporting that the NFLPA executive committee is targeting Monday for a possible vote to recommend the new CBA. Then some other confusing crap will have to happen involving the players settling all their lawsuits and reforming as a union. Nobody will really care about that though because it seems once the executive committee approves the deal football will be back on.
The word is that training camps would start almost immediately (think Wednesday for some teams) which would mean the lockout is over. Then, once the players reform their union later i the week, free agency would begin. The target for free agency appears to be Saturday but at this point these dates are nothing more than guesses.
Nothing will matter until the executive committee votes. So hang tight and keep those cold ones on ice a little longer.
