The lockout is not over yet but the owners have approved the terms of the new CBA that they have negotiated with the players.

The players have not yet voted but are expected to do so later tonight. Roger Goodell is speaking right now and more details are to come.

Watch this space! Football is coming back!

I am going to fire details as bullet points here to get them to you as quickly as possible. Be sure to refresh.

-The Hall of Fame Game is canceled

-Hall of Fame ceremony will go on as planned. Just no game

-Players will be able to return to team facilities on Saturday

-All of this will have to wait on the players to vote and re-certify their union

-Deal is for 10 years. Through 2020 season

-Teams can begin signing their own players and draftees first. Then there will be an opening of the new league year. Could be on Wednesday the 27th. That would mean free agency. Again, all this is dependent on the player vote and re-certification of their union

-Per Adam Schefter of ESPN: “In email to player reps, NFL demanding that NFLPA re-form as a union and provide evidence by Tuesday, July 26.”

-Teams will be likely be able to re-sign their own free agents before the new league year begins. Sounds like the NFL is hoping to start the new league year next Wednesday. Meaning if the players were to vote on the agreement tonight, then Pioli could start trying to lock up the rookies and so forth.

-From Jason LaCanfora of NFL Network: “Following the reconstitution of the NFLPA and CBA approval by NFLPA, free agency signings start at 2ET on 7/27, per the NFL press release”

-Looks like if the players approve the deal tonight, training facilities will open Saturday. It would also mean that Scott Pioli (and other GMs) could start signing un-drafted free agents as soon as 2PM on Sunday. Usually that is done immediately following the draft.

-The owners reportedly voted 31-0 to ratify the new CBA.

-Players receive 48 percent of the revenue in first years of the deal

-$120 million salary cap: Team minimum 89 percent (106.8M) as long as league spends 99 percent ($3.88)

-Veterans can earn free agency after their 4th season

-The league expects the players to dismiss all litigation and move forward as partners for the next ten years

A review about what this all hinges on:

1. Players must re-form as a union and provide evidence by Tuesday, July 26th

2. Players must also vote by Tuesday, July 26th to ratify a proposed CBA

-The Raiders obtained from the vote. No word on why. I think it was because Al Davis wanted the souls of all the players’ children thrown in
