Tornadoes Rip Through The KC Area

by Chiefs

A bunch of tornadoes tore through the Kansas City area today forcing AA readers and Chiefs players alike, to take cover.

I live in NY so the first I heard of the storms was from a tweet by WR Jonathan Baldwin. What followed was a pretty intense hour where we tried to relay as much information about the storms to you as we could. Information is still coming it but so far, we haven’t heard any reports of anyone being killed.

One man was reportedly injured in his truck in according to the Pettus County Sheriff via KCTV5. It is also being reported by KCTV5 that at least half a dozen tornadoes were confirmed in the area.

Hopefully you all made it through alright. The storms continues to move north and is still extremely dangerous. These storms can produce tornadoes almost out of nowhere and they can strike without much warning. The weather today is presenting a high risk for tornadoes according to Weather.com, so please, take care and stay alert.

We’ll not get back to our regular coverage.

My daughter liven in Sedalia and she went to help a co-worker who lost her home. I heard the new Sedalia high school was damaged? Any update on that information AA's would be appreciated.

My friend, Scott Cook, took this photo and Gary Lezak hijacked it and now the thing has gone viral. Whoever Dudley Burt is, he didn't take this picture.

was just in sedalia today. they had everything south of 32nd street closed off. Apparently theres been a lot of damage to houses.

great pic of my city. good thing it didnt get demolished like joplin.. RIP 75% of joplin

Tornados in the spring is the 1 thing I don't miss about living in KC.

Crazy out here, right now it seems to be like were kinda in the eye of the hurricane. 1 minute its tornado weather next minute it gets 20 degreese hotter and clear out side. right now the weather is still clear, but they say the worst has yet to come which will be coming right for the kc area in about an hour or so. I have spotted to tornadoes myself one about a mile or 2 from my house, but it didnt touch then another when i was headng home. Prayers go out to all the people in the KC area, if you have no basement go to one of the shopping centers around here they are being used as shelters.

Or a friend or relatives house with a basement. Seriously. Go over, bring a bottle of wine or a 6 pack and read AA. Just in case. ;)

Most of the danger is through the KC area. I haven't heard anything as far as casualties and the only injury I know of as well is the man in the truck. We're through the worst of it, though, as far as I can tell.
