The Kansas City Chiefs wasted no time coming to the aid of those impacted by the tornado that tore through Joplin, Missouri and Reading, Kansas. The team announced yesterday that it has donated $35,000 to the relief effort.

The tornado’s impact was devastating, destroying an estimated 2000 buildings and taking at least 116 lives.

“The Chiefs Kingdom has been greatly affected by the tornadoes in Joplin and Reading. Our hearts and prayers go out to the people affected by these disasters,” Chiefs President Mark Donovan said in a statement.

The impact hit home hard here at AA, as one of our very own staff members had a family member lose their home. Thankfully, the staff member’s family made it through alive.

We mentioned this yesterday but if you would like to help, you can TEXT 90999 with the message REDCROSS to make a $10 donation. It is quick, simple and will get much needed support to those in desperate need.
