Report: Chiefs To Visit With Mike Pouncey

We’ve discovered via our friends at Arrowhead Pride that Ralph Vacchiano of Sirius Radio and the New York Daily News is reporting that the Kansas City Chiefs will hold a private workout with former Florida G Mike Pouncey.

This comes as no big surprise. Pouncey is widely regarded as the top guard in the draft. The Chiefs are likely interested in Pouncey as a center, considering they have Ryan Lilja, Brian Waters and Jon Asamoah already on board.

Then again, Asamoah is also versatile enough to play center and possibly even tackle if the Chiefs wanted him to.

Mike Pouncey is the twin brother of Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey so we know he comes from good stock.

There is a chance Pouncey will be gone when KC picks at #21 but then again, that is the case with most players expected to go int he first round. I’d say Pouncey and Phil Taylor are probably at the top of my list for players I’d like the Chiefs to snag in the first round.
