Chiefs Injury News

The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Denver Broncos 10-6 Sunday to take a 2-game lead in the division but they did not do so without their bumps and bruises.

Bob Fescoe of 610 Sports, who is at the Chiefs facility tweeted that a  couple players are noticeably banged up.

Donald Washington was seen in a walking boot.

I don’t recall seeing Washington go down to injury but his loss would be a bit of a blow to the already depleted safety position. Then again, Washington is playing like crap so perhaps his absence won’t be missed. The only problem is that both Kendrick Lewis and Jon McGraw have been banged up and without Washington the Chiefs might be forced to put Romeo Crennel in at free safety. The question is, would he be an upgrade over D-Wash?

The second bit of news Fescoe tweeted is a bit more disturbing. Apparently Jamaal Charles has a soft removable cast on his right hand. Charles did appear to land funny on his hand in yesterday’s game though he finished strong, helping the Chiefs ice the game on the ground.

My guess is Charles will be good to go and may be dealing with a sprain here. Anyway, he has two hands to carry the ball with.

He’ll just have to make sure no one catches him. =)
