Chiefs’ Eric Berry > Bernard Pollard

facebooktwitterreddit

The Kansas City Chiefs were wrong to swap Bernard Pollard for Mike Brown in 2009 but they were not wrong to eventually replace him with Eric Berry.

From Madden NFL 11 ratings czar Donny Moore via Twitter:

"Donny_Moore Donny MooreTexans safety Bernard Pollard has been targeted 29 times. He’s given up 22 passes for 305 yds and a league-leading 7 TDs (via @HoustonChron)"

Pollard may get the occasional pick or fumble recovery but he is a major liability int he secondary. There has been a lot of complaining about Pioli dumping Pollard and I think it is warranted. However, I don’t think you can argue that we would be better off with Pollard than Eric Berry, both in play and attitude.

Berry may make the occasional mistakes but he is a rookie playing every snap. What is Pollard’s excuse?
