Chiefs Vs. 49ers Reaction Thread

by Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs remained perfect Sunday defeating the 49ers 31-10!

It was by far the best performance by a Chiefs team in years. The offense was effective all day, moving the ball up and down the field. The defense was smothering, holding the 49ers to a mere 3 points until the last play of the game when San Francisco finally found the endzone with a garbage tie TD against the Chiefs backup defense.

The Chiefs now head in to the bye week atop the AFC West. They’ll need the extra time to get ready for two tough match-ups on the road against the defending AFC Champion Colts and the Houston Texans.

For now, however, the Chiefs are kings of the NFL! Enjoy the victory Addicts and use this thread to talk about one of the finest Chiefs victories in years!

By far the most complete and dominating performance I have seen from the Chiefs in a LONG time. I don't know if anyone noticed, but this is the first time we held time of possession advantage this season. Not only did they dominate the field, but they controlled the ball and dominated the clock. We may still have two backs that go for 1,000 yards each this season. If they can split carries and have that much of an impact, we may see two pro-bowl running backs from the same team. I had a feeling Cassel would put to rest some of the doubt this game, and he did in a big way. He finally looked comfortable in the pocket and wasn't panicking. He trusted the line to do their jobs, and they allowed ZERO and provided time for him to work some magic. The defense....unbelievable. Everyone had them pegged as our biggest weakness and they our biggest asset. Never gave up good field position, and made SF work overtime for every yard. Derrick Thomas is smiling down on this team. Call it being a homer or whatever, but I know now that we have a legitimate shot at winning in Indy and Houston. Will we win either or both? Who knows, but we are now dangerous to both teams. They now have to start working up a game plan to overcome us. God, I love this feeling!

Remember though, Tony G did it for a lot of years and I believe he only missed ONE game in his tim,e with the chiefs. He is a HOF. He gives a model for Tony M. to gauge himself by, I do hope the two of them meet. Would like to think Tony G would take him under his wing and impart advice to him

Agreed, there will never be another Tony G. That said, I know i'll be watching Tony M. along with several other parts of this team for the near future. It is a great time to be a part of the Kingdom!! GO CHIEFS!!!

I tell ya what guys and gals....I'm freaking excited!!!! The Chiefs were down right awesome today!! Even Matt Cassel impressed me!! Wow is all I have to say about today's game. And there is a new Tony in town, and his last name is not Gonzalez. This kid is amazing! This may sound like a homersim but we have to have the best draft class in the league for sure!! GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!

Best draft class in the league??????? This draft class has the chance to go down as one of the best in NFL history!!!

We beat a darn good team today, the 49ers had their backs against the wall, but the Chief's dominated both sides of the ball. I loved the way Cassel showed up, and the potent 2 headed rushing monster we have.

Luck is no longer an excuse. This team is for real...this defense is elite. We played 2 good teams (SD, SF), and we beat them in the trenches. Chiefs fans should be praising Anthony Pleasant, and should be grateful that Tim Krumrie is gone. Damn...it feels good to be a chiefs fan.

Great coaching all over the place.

Yes Patrick, this was a signature win for Haley and company.

I was amazed at the masterful, total team performance !

The D is for real!

Hey vernon Davis, how do you like us now? what a game, how about those chiefs.

Yeah we sure shut Davis up didn't we?

I was at the game, so I couldn't pay much attention to their individual stats, but I don't remember him doing much. Did he have more than one catch? Either way, we made him look like a fool! And we made Gore, who tore apart the Saints, look like a below average RB.

What a game! That was total domination! Offense looked good, defense looked great!! The rookies played awesome, Brandon Flowers looked like a pro bowler! This is perfect heading into a bye week! Great momentum with two whole weeks to prepare for Peyton Manning and that horrible Colts run defense! I haven't had so much fun at a Chiefs game in a LONG TIME! The home field advantage is back! 12th man baby!! GO CHIEFS!!!! 3 and OH!!! LOVIN IT!!

Agreed Mocan. You won't hear any complaints from me for 2 weeks! Fantastic job by everyone. I tip my hat to Haley. Hell of a job coaching this game. And um...Tony Moeaki? WTF? One of the best catches I have ever seen.

Moeaki's Catch was amazing! If he can stay healthy, he is going to be a huge playmaker! I'm not going to say he's gonna make us forget that other Tony, but he definitely makes it a lot less painful that we don't have him. This is exciting to watch. The Indy game is going to be tough, but I actually have a belief that we can win it. I just hate that we have to wait 2 weeks to watch our boys play again! GO CHIEFS!!!

Moeaki is a stud. That catch was unbelievable.

Good balance on offense and great defense. I also love how i am the first one to point out Jones 19 carries, Charles 12 and we're healthy and still undefeated. Maybe it's time to realize these coaches might know what they're doing
