Training Camp Adventures! Woohoo!

I’m back from my second trip to St Joe to see the Kansas City Chiefs endure another agonizing camp. I’m no wimp, I work out regularly (space here for smart ass comments provided_____________), but I literally thought I would pass out both days. I questioned the wisdom of our move to St. Joe earlier in the week, Merlin has his doubts as well, but overall I’m tickled the Chiefs are training in good old Missouri again.

My buddy Dan Knetzer was busy taking photos and videos while I was texting Patrick my updates through torrents of sweat running down my face and my Evo. I think Dan did a great job as you saw from the video of that fantastic catch posted earlier and the photo of Tamba and Vrabel above.

I learned a lot about football from those two days at camp. These guys make more in a season than most of us make in a lifetime, but they work hard. Damn hard. The size of these players is incredible as well, and as you saw from the video we posted earlier in the week, even players with the skills required to catch a pass like that stay off the radar and have trouble finding a job in the greatest football league in the world. tap here

Both days were fun and had their high lights, the first camp day I had an incredible time sending updates to Patrick along with my man William, and I was very pleased to see the awesome response by everyone here at AA. Positive feedback we received from that event is the reason we do what we do here at AA.

The second camp was fun because I scored VIP tickets from the KC Chiefs organziation. That consisted of a tent with food and beverages, as well as a hill top vantage point overlooking the action.

Enough about training camp, tonight is the first preseason game and I’ll be watching it in my new #25 jersey I was suprised to find at K-Mart last night, along with a huge bag of nachos and my girlfriend at my side.

I’ll be looking to see how the rookies fare, as well as how Matt throws.

As usual, Patick and the rest of the football braniacs here at AA will tell us what we saw , what we didn’t see, and what we need to be seeing, and of course non-analysts like me will patiently digest it and let them know who is full of poop.

My birthday was yesterday, and I was pleasantly surprised to see on my KC Chiefs training calendar that Aug 12 is the anniversary of the first game ever played at Arrowhead Stadium. A preseason game, it was also the first Governers cup, the Chiefs beat the Cardinals 24-14.

Its been a great couple of weeks here at AA since training camp started! See you tonight at the preseason game!
