Addict Roundup

facebooktwitterreddit

Just a quick review of today’s events thus far around AA.

In the Forums, readers Dubldug and Kris both have posted some work in the Addict Posts. To see those I suggest you head over there and let the posters know what you think of their work.

Also in the Forums is our new draft thread Ask Merlin where you can talk draft with the other Addicts and ask questions of AA’s resident draft guru Merlin. Check that out here.

The highly anticipated announcement from the NFL on the week one and Thanksgiving Day prime time games has reportedly been delayed indefinitely.

I talked a little bit about the Chiefs needs in the secondary in my latest column about the Wild, Wild AFC West.

We also brought you Chiefs news from around the net in our daily Morning Fix post.

Lastly, I would like to draw your attention to a really great article by Josh Looney of KCChiefs.com on the Eric Berry safety debate and alert you of a special interview he’ll be doing with Berry today on his live call in show.

All of that is after the jump.

This following is from Josh Looney’s latest column over at KCChiefs.com. Looney addresses the info that came out yesterday that Scott Pioli might be hesitant to draft Eric Berry so high. It is an interesting article and you can’t argue with the facts.

"What Dimitroff (and Pioli) are likely referring to is that there is often times plenty of value in the second, third and even fourth safeties coming off the board on draft day. In fact, in recent years, the production of those safeties drafted behind the first man off the board has been better, or at the very least nearly identical under comparison. In 2007, the Washington Redskins took a “can’t miss” player at number six overall in LSU’s Laron Landry. He’s been a fine pro, but in that same draft New England selected Brandon Meriweather at #24 and the Chargers selected Eric Weddle at #37 (in the second round). Michael Griffin also came off the board to Oakland at #19, while Reggie Nelson was selected at #21 by Jacksonville, but both Merriweather and Weddle have been at least comparable (or perhaps better) pros to date."

Lastly, Josh will be hosting Eric Berry on his live call in show today on KCChiefs.com The show starts at noon, which come to think of it, is right now.

Josh has broken news on his call in show before. Most recently, he reported the signing of Chiefs G Ryan Lilja. Tune in if you can.

That is it for today so far. Busy morning!
