ESPN Continues to Give Legs to Absurd Clausen to KC Rumors

From Bill Williamson:

Last week, there was some talk about whether Kansas City should draft Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen at No. 5.

His coach at Notre Dame, Charlie Weis, is the new offensive coordinator in Kansas City. Weis loves Clausen.

Of course, the Chiefs just acquired and gave a huge contract to Matt Cassel last year. If Clausen was drafted, perhaps Cassel would be traded. ESPN’s Mel Kiper suggested he be dealt to Denver. We all know Denver coach Josh McDaniels would be interested.

What are your thoughts? As a Chief fan, would you want to take a risk and to draft Clausen, or would you rather the Chiefs address another area with their top pick and give Cassel more time to grow into his own Kansas City.

My head is going to explode. Look, the AFC West Blog on ESPN is just that, a Blog. Meaning sometimes Bill is reporting actual news and sometimes he is just thinking out loud. This would be filed under the latter.

Bill is free to suggest any scenarios he likes over there. God knows we do it over here but we at least try to make our make sense…well, except for Andrew. =)
