DiTrani: “Romeo Crennel will be joining the coaching staff in Kansas City and not with the Giants”

Vinny DiTrani of NorthJersey.com is reporting Romeo Crennel, who is back from his vacation today, has chosen the Kansas City Chiefs over the New York Giants.

Nothing’s official yet, but according to a league source, Romeo Crennel will be joining the coaching staff in Kansas City and not with the Giants. Crennel would be reunited with Charlie Weis and Scott Pioli in KC. The trio had a lot ot do with the success of the Patriots.

Also another team will be firing its DC later today, opening another job and throwing anothert candidate onto the market.

This is by no means official but we will be monitoring this closely. Even when the news of the Weis hire broke it took some time for the Chiefs to make an official announcement. Keep an eye on Adam Shefter’s Twitter account as he speculated a couple of weeks ago that Crennel would be heading to KC.

If there is a leak, some of it is bound to trickle Shefter’s way. Stay tuned.
