QB Casey Printers Cut by Chiefs

According to TSN, the Kansas City Chiefs have cut quarterback Casey Printers. The Chiefs offered him a spot on the practice squad, but he declined. Reportedly, Printers will attempt to sign with another NFL team within the next week. If that doesn’t happen he will likely return to the CFL.
What happened? This move was completely [...]

Chiefs Interested in Jacksonville’s Leftwich Leftovers?

If you haven’t heard the breaking news yet, the Jacksonville Jaguars will either release or trade ex-starting quarterback Byron Leftwich. David Garrad has been named the starter, and Quinn Gray — yeah, the guy who came into that Week 17 game at Arrowhead last year and carved the Chiefs up pretty nicely — will serve [...]

And Then There Were Four

Ray Farmer told Rod Gardner (as Gardner was handed his pink slip) that we’re likely going to keep four wide receivers. You can count on that list including Eddie Kennison, Dwayne Bowe and Jeff Webb. I’m convinced that in Herm’s mind and that of Mike Solari (we finally got a Mike Solari [...]

Ray Farmer is Good at His Job, but Chuck Barris Would be Even Better

VS.

After watching the latest edition of Hard Knocks, we all know that Kansas City Chiefs director of pro personnel Ray “The Grim Reaper” Farmer is pretty good at what he does. That being said, wouldn’t it be more entertaining TV if the players about to be released were called into director of gonging Chuck [...]

Tony & October Gonzalez

We all know Tony Gonzalez, but here’s a look at his wife October Gonzalez. We can’t decide who’s hotter — L.J.’s girlfriend Julissa Bermudez, Kelli Croyle or October? You can throw Danni Boatwright (or is it Wiegmann now?) in there as well. Tough call.

Chiefs Fix: Preseason Game Four Edition

Chiefs fans will finally get to see recently signed wide receiver and former AFL star Bobby Sippio tonight. Personally, I’m real pumped. I’ve received some ridicule for being so high on Sippio (mostly from my brother, the coach), but I just had this feeling about him. First off, there’s the stats, including 53 touchdowns last [...]

Damon Huard: Risky Business?

I found this over at Arrowhead Pride (via NFLPlayers.com):
Damon Huard
Nickname: Huey
Favorite movies: Risky Business, Stand By Me, Braveheart
Football heroes growing up: Dan Marino and John Elway (You have to be ****ing kidding me)
Few people know that: Huard worked for the co-founder of Microsoft (Paul Allen) his first year out of college
Wow! Pair that his [...]

Hard Knocks Open Thread

Zach and I are both committed to be elsewhere tonight, so I’m posting this as an open thread for tonight’s show. Hard Knocks: Training Camp With the Kansas City Chiefs airs at 9 PM on HBO. Feel free to comment as much as you like on the show and/or request clips or images from the [...]

Memo to Fantasy Footballers: Leave Your Arrowhead Addiction Behind in ‘07

(I just wanted to let everyone know that things have been slow over the past 36 hours or so due to server problems resulting from the increased traffic we’ve been receiving. We should be good to go now, and will continue to work hard to keep the site running smoothly for all of our Arrowhead [...]

Herm Edwards Likes His Krispy Kreme Donuts “Hot!”

How badass is Herm Edwards? And I’m not even talking about his coaching ability here — I’m talking about how ridiculously quotable he is. The guy is a walking soundbite. So much so that Tony Kornheiser recently basically confessed to having a Herm mancrush on national TV. In this clip from HBO’s Hard Knocks, Herm [...]

Chiefs Sign KR Eddie Drummond

The Chiefs decided that they saw an opportunity to better their football team with proven kick returner Eddie Drummond. Drummond is only 27 years old, but he has a history of being injured. Michael David Smith — easily the busiest man in sportsblogging, who I’m convinced has cloned himself a la Michael Keaton in Multiplicity [...]

More on the QB Situation…

Here are some quotes from Head Coach Herm Edwards:

“Brodie Croyle in my mind is going to be a good quarterback in this organization — no doubt about it,” Edwards said.
“I just think we’ve exposed Brodie where we know what he is a lot more than we did last year. We know what [...]

Croyle Sucks, Printers for President?

This Chiefs fan says “Brodie Croyle sucks,” and thinks that Casey Printers should at least get a shot. Judging from the boos Croyle received Thursday night, and the cheers Printers got, I think Chiefs nation agrees to some extent. Unfortunately, with Huard starting, Printers will probably be regulated to No. 3 status all season [...]

Screw Dogfighting; Travis Henry Prefers the Risqué Sport of Bastarding

I just wanted to take a moment to personally thank Denver Broncos running back Travis Henry for making it so damn easy to make fun of a Bronco. Thanks to The Big Lead for discovering this information on Henry. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Henry has fathered nine illegitimate children by nine different wives. That’s [...]

Huard Named the Starter

Herm Edwards has decided to go a different direction and start the quarterback who helped lead the Chiefs to the playoffs last year. The K.C. Star is reporting that Edwards decided to go with Damon Huard after seeing Croyle’s performance against the Saints on Thursday. With Damion McIntosh possibly missing the first game, Herm decided [...]
