QB Casey Printers Cut by Chiefs

AUTHOR: Adam Best | IN: Breaking News, Rumors | COMMENTS: 9 Comments

According to TSN, the Kansas City Chiefs have cut quarterback Casey Printers. The Chiefs offered him a spot on the practice squad, but he declined. Reportedly, Printers will attempt to sign with another NFL team within the next week. If that doesn’t happen he will likely return to the CFL.
What happened? This move was completely unexpected. After all, Carl Peterson sacrificed having Jason Dunn on last year’s playoff roster specifically to keep Printers from being signed by another team. Then he improves pretty dramatically this offseason, and the Chiefs respond by releasing him and offering him a spot on the [...]

Chiefs Interested in Jacksonville's Leftwich Leftovers?

AUTHOR: Adam Best | IN: Rumors | COMMENTS: 5 Comments

If you haven’t heard the breaking news yet, the Jacksonville Jaguars will either release or trade ex-starting quarterback Byron Leftwich. David Garrad has been named the starter, and Quinn Gray — yeah, the guy who came into that Week 17 game at Arrowhead last year and carved the Chiefs up pretty nicely — will serve as the No. 2 QB.
Given that news here’s the big question: Are the Kansas City Chiefs legitimately interested in acquiring Leftwich given the team’s shaky QB situation?
Peter King says that we would “surely be intrigued.” Chris over at Big Cat Country has also heard that [...]

And Then There Were Four

AUTHOR: Blog Z | IN: Chiefs | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

Ray Farmer told Rod Gardner (as Gardner was handed his pink slip) that we’re likely going to keep four wide receivers. You can count on that list including Eddie Kennison, Dwayne Bowe and Jeff Webb. I’m convinced that in Herm’s mind and that of Mike Solari (we finally got a Mike Solari interview on Hard Knocks!) Webb is going to make this team.
Who is number 4? It just can’t be Samie Parker. Buddy, I’ll give you a hug, but this is just not your home anymore. Drafted by the previous regime for his blazing [...]

Ray Farmer is Good at His Job, but Chuck Barris Would be Even Better

AUTHOR: Adam Best | IN: Off-Topic/Other, Video | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

VS.

After watching the latest edition of Hard Knocks, we all know that Kansas City Chiefs director of pro personnel Ray “The Grim Reaper” Farmer is pretty good at what he does. That being said, wouldn’t it be more entertaining TV if the players about to be released were called into director of gonging Chuck Barris’ office and given The Gong Show send off? He’s an ex-game show host and -CIA assassin (allegedly), so he’d be entertaining and imposing. Check out some of his greatest moments from The Gong Show.

Here are a few current Chiefs that after watching this preseason [...]

Tony & October Gonzalez

AUTHOR: Adam Best | IN: Video | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

We all know Tony Gonzalez, but here’s a look at his wife October Gonzalez. We can’t decide who’s hotter — L.J.’s girlfriend Julissa Bermudez, Kelli Croyle or October? You can throw Danni Boatwright (or is it Wiegmann now?) in there as well. Tough call.

Chiefs Fix: Preseason Game Four Edition

AUTHOR: Adam Best | IN: Gameday | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

Chiefs fans will finally get to see recently signed wide receiver and former AFL star Bobby Sippio tonight. Personally, I’m real pumped. I’ve received some ridicule for being so high on Sippio (mostly from my brother, the coach), but I just had this feeling about him. First off, there’s the stats, including 53 touchdowns last season. Dismiss those if you will, but it was impossible for me to dismiss Sippio’s highlight reel. When a guy can run, jump and catch like that, with his size,it doesn’ matter who he is playing against — you can see that he can flat [...]

Damon Huard: Risky Business?

AUTHOR: Adam Best | IN: Wallpapers/Images | COMMENTS: None Yet

I found this over at Arrowhead Pride (via NFLPlayers.com):
Damon Huard
Nickname: Huey
Favorite movies: Risky Business, Stand By Me, Braveheart
Football heroes growing up: Dan Marino and John Elway (You have to be ****ing kidding me)
Few people know that: Huard worked for the co-founder of Microsoft (Paul Allen) his first year out of college
Wow! Pair that his favorite movie involves a young Tom Cruise dancing around in his tighty whities with these pics of glamor boy QB Tom Brady (from this post over at Pacman Jonesin’, and Brady did call to congratulate Huard a few days back), and you kind of have [...]
