All the big boys are reporting that Al Davis has signed Daunte Culpepper to a one-year deal. I love this because I thought the Raiders should have originally drafted Calvin Johnson and then sign Daunte. Congrats Al!
ESPN:
Culpepper, 30, worked out in the afternoon before a gathering of Raiders scouts and coaches. The workout was [...]

Who is TE Keith Willis?
That’s a great question right about now, because Jason Dunn apparently heals about as quickly as Grant Hill, and it is looking more and more likely that Kris Wilson will be our starting fullback.
Willis is a young tight end out of Virginia Tech that has bounced around the NFL quite a [...]

610 Sports is reporting that first-round pick Dwayne Bowe has finally signed a contract with the Kansas City Chiefs. We’ll keep you posted with details as we get them. Hopefully, this is true, as we’ve heard in the past few days that D-Bo and his agents were waiting for Brady Quinn and JaMarcus Russell to [...]

The first thing that comes to mind is that Bernard Pollard is really putting on a show out there. Yesterday he apparently had a crazy pick-six where he jumped up, tipped the ball, came down with it and took it to the house. Considering the way he hits and tackles, his play in pass [...]

Here is how I’m calling the AFC West division as of right now:
San Diego Chargers
Kansas City Chiefs
Denver Broncos
Oakland Raiders
I know my rankings probably shock some of you a bit, but that’s just the way I’m seeing it. I honestly think that — barring that Dwayne Bowe and Larry Johnson both sign — we had the [...]

The K.C. Star’s Adam Teicher brought up an interesting point in his latest vlog: If neither L.J. or Priest suites up for the Chiefs this upcoming season, could rookie RB Kolby Smith be our leading rusher? It seems the coaching staff and front office believe so.
Bernard Pollard has been a force thus far, both against [...]

Here is something I actually agree with Whitlock on:
There’s no real reason to mention that Kansas City’s first-round pick, Dwayne Bowe, isn’t in training camp. Contract disputes with draft picks are a Chiefs tradition, right along with first-round playoff losses and tailgating.
Eddie Kennison on Priest Holmes:
“I’m not surprised,” receiver Eddie Kennison said. “Priest’s contract [...]

Dear Anti-L.J. Crowd,
I know that many of you are of the opinion that when a man (or woman) signs a contract they should honor said contract. While I’m all for people honoring their word, this situation is something different.
How is it any different?
When it comes to one’s career, that person has to look out for [...]

(The images have gotten better lately at the Star. They have also added a nice shutter feature for their images. Uh, I wonder where they got that from?)

This isn’t new (July 17), but I just found it. Do those cretins up in Connecticut really think the Chiefs have the 21st best linebacking corps? I think the revamped unit is in the top ten. Maybe that’s homerism, but I know that they are not one of the bleeping 12 worst linebacking crews in [...]

Grueling month after grueling month, running back Priest Holmes finally passed his physical and dialed Kansas City Chiefs’ General Manager Carl Peterson’s digits to indicate he will be in camp on time. The headlines haven’t looked this good since Greg Robinson resigned. And by good, I mean stellar. Don’t believe the hype that The [...]

After being released during the spring, Kyle Turley has signed with the Chiefs once again. After a disappointing ‘06 season — one during which he played almost 30 pounds under his typical playing weight after a two-year layoff — Turley hopes to resurrect his career. He’s still only 31 years old, relatively young for an [...]

The Top Five Pre-Training Camp Special Team Questions:
5. Will Bernard Pollard still be a special teams force now that he is expected to be a defensive starter?
That’s hard to answer right now. I do know that the Chiefs would have to be clinically insane to remove him from the punt block team. Expect him to [...]
