Tyreek Hill reunion would give Chiefs wide receiver room real juice again

A Tyreek Hill reunion could give the Chiefs’ offense a needed spark while providing veteran guidance for a young wide receiver room.

I'll admit it: I want Tyreek Hill back. Even if he's got a bionic leg and is a half-second slower than he used to be, I'll still take him. Even if he isn't who he was when he won Super Bowl LIV with the Kansas City Chiefs, I'll still take him.

Why? Because Hill a bona fide Hall of FamerTyreek Hill reunion with Chiefs could fix what’s quietly been broken
who can serve a twofold purpose for a team that is now rebuilding-ish. The first is that he can inject some much-needed juice into a wide receiver room that has been lacking ever since he was traded.

Sure, the Chiefs won two Super Bowls in the aftermath of that trade, but offensively it's been a tough watch at times. Even with an infusion of new blood with Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy, life has been hard for Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. Assuming that Tyreek still has the chemistry he had with Mahomes, this could be a major boon.

Second—and hold the laughter here—he could be the veteran presence that helps mature Rice, Worthy, and the rest of the room. I know what you're thinking: "Tyreek Hill being the mature role model? Give me a break." I get it—he's had his own issues for years—but he's still been around for a long time and could really show these guys the ropes and help them understand how to connect with Mahomes.

Add in the fact that the Chiefs now have a new wide receivers coach who might actually know what he's doing, and this could be the perfect scenario for Hill, the other wideouts, and the team as a whole.

Will Tyreek be as good as he once was? Probably not. His knee injury was pretty gruesome, and it's hard to imagine that he has the same speed after that. But by coming back to the Chiefs, he has familiarity, and he has room to showcase that he's still got it without the pressure of having to be "the guy" like he once was.

His career may be winding down, but I think the Chiefs still have time to run WASP.
