Tyreek Hill sounds like a man with a future plan.
As the Kansas City Chiefs approached the 2026 offseason, a few player reunions felt obvious when predicting available players and roster shortcomings. The Chiefs have already brought back cornerback L'Jarius Sneed after two seasons away in Tennessee. Another year for running back Kareem Hunt wouldn't have surprised anyone. And Hill, a veteran wide receiver, has felt like another likely candidate after being released in February by the Miami Dolphins.
Fans and analysts have connected the dots for quite some time. Former Chiefs teammates like defensive tackle Chris Jones have also been among those chiming in with support for a potential move. As for Hill, well, he's clearly got a vision in mind.

In case that post doesn't make sense, Hill spent some time signing autographs for Chiefs Kingdom at a local auto dealership recently. Then he posted the footage on his own Instagram with a caption that read, "KC I missed you!" along with the phrase "see you soon".
Does Hill know something there? Is there already an understanding between Hill and the Chiefs front office that, at some point, Hill will be back on the roster? It makes sense. After suffering a gruesome leg injury last September, Hill has faced a long road to recovery that might be keeping him from being able to pass any physical in order to sign such a deal.
As for the Chiefs' side, they've avoided any major upgrade at wide receiver despite facing considerable questions at the position. The only addition of note is a day three pick (fifth-round selection Cyrus Allen out of Cincinnati) despite Rashee Rice currently sitting in jail and Xavier Worthy wearing a yellow (non-contact) jersey during OTAs. The re-signing of Tyquan Thornton helps, but fans have been clamoring for a bigger signing all offseason.
The physical questions are going to be the primary hurdle for any reunion between Hill and the Chiefs. After 10 seasons in the NFL, Hill is an older player whose calling card is his elite speed, but how well does that play after a torn ACL at the age of 32? That said, Hill has averaged 89 catches for 1,233 yards and 9 touchdowns in his first nine seasons in the NFL. That body of work is not casually dismissed.
Hill was drafted by the Chiefs in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft and was traded to Miami in 2022 after having already established himself as the most dynamic WR to ever play for the franchise. It's impossible for anyone to tell just how he'd look in red and gold once again, but it looks like a clear fit, if healthy, for both sides. Homecomings are always warm stories and it looks like K.C. might have another one on the way.
