The Kansas City Chiefs lost a winnable game and, as frustrating as that is, the even more frustrating part of all of this is that, after working themselves out of a 1-3 hole, this team is now 5-5 and not in the playoff picture. It's not a great situation to be in exiting Week 11.
Travis Kelce, one of the few Chiefs players who played well in Denver (nine catches for 91 yards and a touchdown), had a nice moment on a miserable night after setting a franchise record for touchdowns on the night. But that's not what the future Hall of Fame tight end wanted to discuss after the game.
"If you're gonna ask about the record, I could care less about that right now," Kelce said.
Travis Kelce didn’t stop to talk to reporters after the Chiefs loss in Denver. “If you’re gonna ask about the record, I could care less about that right now,” he said on his way out of the locker room.

Kelce had no interest in personal achievements after such a miserable team effort on Sunday.
Kelce caught a short pass from Mahomes in the second half and slipped away from Talanoa Hufanga's best attempts to tackle him to earn the rest of the 21-yard touchdown play that put the Chiefs up temporarily, 19-16 (a blocked extra point didn't help matters). In doing so, he broke the tie with Priest Holmes for most regular-season touchdowns scored in Chiefs history.
Following the game, it'd be natural for reporters to ask him about such an incredible achievement, but the mood in K.C. wasn't ripe for anything but addressing their losing ways. The Chiefs are now 5-5 and are seriously on the ropes in the AFC playoff picture. They were already sitting outside the top seven seeds going into Week 11, and now have a deeper hole with only 7 games left.
In addition, the salt in the wound is that the Chiefs no longer run the AFC West. They've won 9 straight division titles, but the Broncos have the tie-breaker over them and a two-game lead with a soft schedule ahead. Meanwhile, the Chiefs face the Indianapolis Colts and then a short week to play the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving.
Kelce will have plenty of time to celebrate long-term achievements later. The Chiefs have some short-term course correcting to do, if that's even possible at this point, and Kelce clearly does not care about anything else.
