The talk of the 2025 NFL Draft was Shedeur Sanders and how far the Colorado quarterback fell in the draft. Once considered a top-10 prospect, Sanders slipped out of the first round and kept tumbling down the draft board, not hearing his name called until the fifth round when the Cleveland Browns spent the 144th pick on the Buffaloes signal-caller.

Plenty of people were stunned by how far Sanders fell and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce fell into that category. On the latest episode of his New Heights podcast, Kelce spoke about Sanders' slide and didn't hold back in his NSFW rant.

“I think whoever’s the f--king anonymous person that’s f--king saying this should f–-king come out and say who they were. Like, what the f–-k is that about?” Kelce said. “Like, if you’re going to f–-king leak that type of s--t, f–-king be the one that says, ‘Yeah, it just didn’t go well for us.’ Don’t f-–king say we’re anonymous, ya know? That’s so f-–king lame. I just feel like there’s no validity to it.”

There were plenty of teams that needed a quarterback in this year's draft but clearly something about Sanders gave them pause. Chiefs fans had come to terms with the fact that Sanders could end up in the AFC West with the Raiders but Las Vegas continued to pass on the Colorado quarterback.

Now Sanders is in Cleveland where he has a pretty good chance of starting for the Browns, whose quarterback room is a mess. Deshaun Watson won't play this year so it'll be either Sanders, Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, or Browns third-round rookie Dillon Gabriel leading the way for the Dawg Pound.

Kelce agreed that Sanders could be the starter in Cleveland down the road and praised the young quarterback. He said that the Browns offer Sanders a fresh start.

“What I saw of the film, I thought he was a way higher pick, and I think that’s all I think should matter. It doesn’t seem like he’s a terrible person. It seems like he’s just a motivated football player that is part of a big football family,” Kelce said. “Him and his father have kind of taken over the NCAA football for the past three to four years. Whether that’s something NFL teams quote unquote didn’t want to deal with, I feel like this is going to be such a fresh start for him. I can see him working his ass off and becoming the starting quarterback in Cleveland at some point, for sure.”

It was a humbling weekend for Sanders for sure but clearly, he has people rooting for him at the professional level.
