The Chiefs need Tyreek Hill now more than ever and he knows it

Two receivers went down on Sunday. Is that finally going to get Tyreek Hill back to KC?

The Kansas City Chiefs might be 4-0 but it came at a price. K.C. lost two of their starting wide receivers to injuries in their Week 4 tilt against the Raiders with Rashee Rice exiting with a hamstring injury in the first half and Tyquan Thornton suffering a gruesome ankle injury late in the game.

While the Chiefs can promote Jalen Royals and Cyrus Allen to the starting lineup, one name remains in the conversation and it's only trending that way even more now that these injuries have occured. That name is Tyreek Hill. Yes, that same Tyreek Hill that spent six years in Kansas City and was Patrick Mahomes' favorite weapon for multiple seasons.

Hill had a serious knee injury roughly a year ago when he was with the Dolphins and he's been working his way back from that injury. The former Chiefs wideout has been hinting on social media for quite some time now that he's been eyeing a return to the organization that drafted him and he definitely raised some eyebrows with a post he had on X on Sunday during the game.

Tyreek Hill hasn't been quiet on social media

Simple but sweet. This could be slang for something or it could simply be a shortened version of "Hmmm" as if Hill is pondering what the injuries mean and if it might lead to him landing back in Kansas City.

This isn't the only post Hill has made about Kansas City though. On September 30, he made a comment about being ready to return to the cold weather. As we (and Hill) know(s), Kansas City has cold weather.

Tyreek Hill sounds like he's ready to suit up for the Chiefs again

Two days before that post, Hill talked about how he was ready to get back to work. This one doesn't necessarily have direct ties to Kansas City but it was the morning after they moved to 3-0 against his other former team.

Skipping ahead, earlier in September when Patrick Mahomes officially returned from his injury, Hill couldn't help but praise his former quarterback.

Clearly, Hill has his eyes on reuniting with the Chiefs and, let's be honest, the team could desperately use him. He probably knows that and hasn't been shy about wanting to rejoin them. Rice and Thornton's injuries might be what finally pushes Brett Veach to pick up the phone and give Hill's agent a call.

Who knows? Maybe Hill is already on a plane and heading to Kansas City to kick this thing into high gear. He won't be the same player he used to be and that injury he sustained was no joke but he knows Eric Bieniemy's system and can potentially give this wide receiver room a boost it desperately needs.
