Maybe Terrell Owens is still angry with the Kansas City Chiefs over that whole Josh Gordon thing.

In case you don't remember, back in 2022, Gordon appeared on the Pat McAfee Show to complain about not receiving a roster invite from the Chiefs in 2021. At the age of 48 (then), Owens believed he still possessed the requisite athleticism and skills to make an impact on the gridiron and he hoped Chiefs head coach Andy Reid would provide him an opportunity to prove it.

Instead, the Chiefs leaned into the Josh Gordon experiment and we all know how that turned out. Owens apparently took exception to that as well and made his feelings known the following offseason that he'd coveted that roster spot and was upset that he didn't get it.

A few years later, Owens is now wanting to discredit anything and everything the Chiefs have achieved since spurning his request.

In a recent appearance on the sports talk show It Is What It Is, a podcast hosted by rappers Cam'Ron and Mase, Owens was asked about the upcoming Super Bowl matchup between the Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. Owens said he wouldn't bet against Kansas City, which sounds positive at first, until you hear his reasons why.

"Tale of the tape, if you go by position, except for the quarterback position, Eagles by a landslide. They’ve got the receivers. They’ve got the running back. Defenses could be a stalemate. Quarterback is going to make the difference, but again, I wouldn’t bet against the Chiefs. And with the refs, honestly, with all of the calls…

"I played the game. I’m watching the game, and I’m looking at all these calls that’s benefitting the Kansas City Chiefs. Look at the game before against the Texans. Bro, Mahomes is smart… causing the flag. He’s getting the benefit of the… he didn’t even get hit, 15-yard flag. Will Anderson barely hit him, another… that can stop the momentum of the game.

"At that point in time, the Houston Texans were in the game. Those calls right there advances them, gives them extra downs, it changed the whole complexity of the game."

Not only is Owens leaning into the anti-Chiefs hysteria that's run ridiculously rampant over the last few weeks (and months) but he even says it stretches back historically over this run of sustained success.

"You can even go back to the last couple of Super Bowls, even when the Niners played the Super Bowl. Look at all the holding calls. If you watch that tape, bro, it was crazy. They were getting clotheslined. They were not calling it. Bro, it was blatant calls that were hits … it’s unreal. I’ve never thought I would say that games were rigged … bro, it is unreal at the amount of calls that are not called against the Kansas City Chiefs that are called against everybody else."

Terrell, if it helps, we weren't crazy about the whole Josh Gordon thing either.
