In case you've returned from an excursion to another planet, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and America's biggest pop princess in Taylor Swift are right in the middle of a very public relationship. Swift has even found herself in the luxury box at more than a few of Kelce's games.
Swift may have started out as a fair-weather fan without a ton of football knowledge, but she has gradually evolved to the point where she has even managed to teach her future Hall of Fame boyfriend a thing or two about his new teammates.
Swift was reportedly thrilled when the Chiefs used their first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft on Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy, who was fresh off setting an NFL Combine record in the 40-yard dash with a 4.21 time. To hear Kelce tell it on the New Heights podcast, he and his love interest did together, Swift was more in-tune with Worthy's scouting report than he was.
"You were the first person to tell me that we drafted the fastest man in the draft," Kelce said to Swift. "I couldn't believe it either. I was like, 'Wait, is she right? I gotta look this up. Did she get the wrong information here?' Swift's eye for talent appears to be rearing its head.
Chiefs TE Travis Kelce says Taylor Swift told him about Xavier Worthy's crazy speed
Swift's excitement for Worthy turned into a 638-yard, six-touchdown rookie season. In the playoffs, Worthy managed to step on the gas, tallying 287 yards and three touchdowns as the Chiefs' push to become the first team to win three straight Super Bowls ultimately flamed out.
With Kelce himself entering what many believe to be his final season in the NFL and the Chiefs' wideouts not exactly scaring opposing teams, Worthy might make Swift look even smarter for believing in him with a breakout 2025 campaign.
Swift has been dating Kelce for just a few years, and she is gradually becoming more hardcore with each passing month. This Worthy praise comes just a few years after she claimed that she assumed all the offensive and defensive players shared the field at the same time.
If Kelce and Swift keep this relationship going for a few more years, who knows just how in-depth her football knowledge will become? Chiefs fans may be just a few games away from Swift complaining about their lack of a big-play threat in the running back room or the lack of snaps given to Felix Anudike-Uzomah.
