Super Bowl 59 proves the NFL isn't rigging history for the Chiefs

Find a new storyline, folks.

The crowd that thinks the Kansas City Chiefs get all of the calls are going to have to find a new argument after the Chiefs laid an egg in the first half of Super Bowl 59. Very little went in the Chiefs' direction and they were down 24-0 at the half.

The game started off simple enough with both teams trading punts before the Eagles were able to score a touchdown and then added to the lead with a field goal later on. That's when things really got ugly for Kansas City, as the offensive line was unable to protect Patrick Mahomes and that forced him into some terrible throws.

The first bad throw resulted in a pick-six that made it to 17-0 Eagles. The second bad throw was another interception that set the Eagles up in a goal-to-go situation and led to Philadelphia scoring not long after. It was 24-0 and the Chiefs had barely had the football.

The refs aren't rigging the game for the Chiefs and Super Bowl 59 proves it

Chiefs fans would obviously rather this narrative continue and the team not be down by 20+ points but this is the reality we're living in right now. It was as ugly as a first half as a team could have and now the Chiefs have to dig themselves out of the hole and hope like heck they can pull off a crazy comeback in the second half.

One thing is true though and that's that this is clearly evidence that the games are not being rigged for Kansas City. If it was, they wouldn't be down by this much in the first place. They also wouldn't have flagged the defense multiple times and given the Eagles the ball for even longer.
