Wait... I thought we were supposed to dislike this guy!

As the Kansas City Chiefs prepare to play in their fifth Super Bowl in six years, Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton is spending time in his old stomping ground of New Orleans. Payton joined the Broncos in 2023 and, much to Chiefs fans' dismay, has turned them into a good team.

While it's easy to dislike Payton and the Broncos, he talked about a cool thing that he did for the Chiefs receivers this week while appearing on Up & Adams. Payton talked about how he saw the Chiefs wide receivers eating dinner one night and decided he wanted the meal to be on him.

"I thought, I need to buy them this dinner. So, I say, 'Andy [Reid] should have given you his credit card," Payton told Kay Adams. "Well [the Saints in 2010] went out to eat in Miami and I remember giving [Drew] Brees the credit card and said don't do too much damage and he stopped at $10,000. And so, I had to peek over, it was just the receivers... And yeah, I bought the [Chiefs] receivers dinner."

Of course, now you're all wondering how much the meal ended up being for Payton and don't worry, Adams asked him that question. He said, "It wasn't bad. $1900." For the eight receivers that were there, Payton's right, that doesn't seem too bad, especially when Payton also says the final charge included his own meal.

It would have been easy for Payton to have just ignored the players from an opposing team and went on with his night but this was a cool thing that he did for them. Chiefs fans are going to grow to dislike Payton if they didn't already since he looks to have the Broncos on the right track but things like this show that rivalries don't mean everyone hates each other and can be respectful toward one another.

Now would it have been funnier if the receivers ate way more food and put a bigger charge on Payton's credit card? Yes, absolutely. But it looks as though they kept things on the "cheaper" side. Way to go, guys.
