When it comes to the greatest tight ends in NFL history, Travis Kelce and Rob Gronkowski's names would both be floated in the conversation. The two's time in the league overlapped, as Gronk played in the NFL from 2010 to 2021 while Kelce has been in the NFL since 2013.

Naturally, people might expect the two to be in competition with each other over who was/is better but that's not the case at all. Gronk spoke about "the debate" between the two on his podcast, Dudes on Dudes, which he hosts with Julian Edelman. His quote will show how much respect Gronkowski truly has for Kelce and what he does with the Chiefs.

"You can compare us but we're two totally different players. It all depends on what kind of scheme you're in. What they ask him to do, I couldn't replicate what he's doing. If you ask him to do what I was doing with the Patriots, I don't think he could replicate it. [The Chiefs] know how to use his skillsets. We have two totally different skillsets. It's an honor to be in the same category."

Rob Gronkowski hits the nail on the head with Travis Kelce comments

Gronk made a great point with these comments. He and Kelce were/are used in different ways and they both excelled in the ways their teams utilized them. For Gronkowski, he was on four different Super Bowl-winning teams and played in six total Super Bowls. Kelce was on three Super Bowl-winning teams and played in five Super Bowls to this point so not only have they been great players, but they've been on successful teams as well and have that in common.

Gronkowski was an absolute monster when he played and Kelce received comparisons to him early in his career. It's been cool to see him pass Gronk's threat level and continue to thrive even in the later stages of his career.

It's okay for two players at the same position to both be great. Instead of arguing about which one is better, Gronkowski took the high road and preached the truth here. Gronkowski and Kelce are two of the greatest tight ends to ever play the game and we're lucky we got to witness both of their playing careers.
