On Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs will host the Las Vegas Raiders, and there’s no love lost between the two franchises. It’s hard to call it a rivalry because the Chiefs have absolutely dominated their divisional opponents in recent years. However, that hasn’t stopped the Raiders from talking a big game, and they’re back at it ahead of Sunday’s matchup.
Raiders linebacker Devin White, who joined Vegas this offseason, was asked on Wednesday how his experience of facing Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in the Super Bowl will help him and the Raiders on Sunday. The veteran linebacker simply said it means he’s not scared. While others tend to focus on Mahomes' accolades and what he’s accomplished, White says he’ll be poised and have his guys ready to play.
That was a measured response from the linebacker, but he quickly took things up a notch when asked what it will be like when he’s matched up against Travis Kelce. White responded, “Devin White gone win; that’s all. Devin White gone win when I’m against him.”
“I ain’t scared. I know a lot of people look at him for what he is, the guy won 3 Super Bowls…I’mma be poised and have my guys reddy to play.”

Devin White is ready to take on Travis Kelce and Chiefs for the first time with Raiders
For Las Vegas, you love for your inside linebacker to have this kind of mentality. For Kansas City, you can’t help but laugh. Sure, White has bragging rights over the Chiefs because of the Super Bowl 55 victory, but that won’t help him on Sunday, as he’s now with the Raiders.
White is new in Las Vegas, but his team hasn’t fared well against Kansas City. In the last 10 meetings between the two franchises, the Chiefs are 8-2. The Raiders' most recent win came on Christmas of 2023, pulling off a 20-14 upset. Before that, Las Vegas had last won in 2020. Besides those two games, it has been all Kansas City the last five years.
The Chiefs will look to remind Devin White of that on Sunday, and Travis Kelce will certainly try to declare himself as the winner of their individual matchup.
