The Denver Broncos are, to nobody's surprise, terrible yet again. After Sean Payton made a clown of himself in the offseason, he's making a clown of himself on the field, too. On Sunday, Nathanial Hackett got his revenge and didn't even need Aaron Rodgers.
With Denver looking at a 1-5 start (yep, I'm already predicting a loss to the Chiefs on Thursday night), it wouldn't be a total surprise to see them start shedding and trading veterans. They already got rid of failed free agent Randy Gregory.
While I'm sure that every Broncos fan wishes that they would trade Russell Wilson, that is laughably impossible thanks to his contract. So who else could be on the block, and who would the Chiefs be interested in?
1. Jerry Jeudy - Wide Receiver
Chiefs Kingdom can dream, right? Patrick Mahomes has to be longing for a solid wide receiver right now, and Jeudy might fit that bill. He hasn't scored a touchdown yet this season, but given the state of Denver's offense that's probably not all his fault. With the emergence of rookie Marvin Mims Jr. Denver may find one of their wide receivers expendable. I said one of them because...
2. Courtland Sutton - Wide Receiver
If they won't let go of Jeudy, maybe Courtland Sutton instead? Sutton has had a much better year than Jeudy so far. The truth is, Denver is not about to hand their division rival anything, especially a potentially star receiver. I don't know what the value for either wide receiver would be, but it would have to be pretty high. I doubt the Chiefs (or anyone) would give up first-round picks, but second and thirds certainly seem plausible.
3. Frank Clark - Defensive End
Old friend alert! Let's be real, what Chiefs fan wouldn't love this reunion? After years of harassing Denver, Clark turned heel. Apparently, he just needed a taste of losing or something. He'll try his darndest to get a sack on Patrick Mahomes on Thursday night, but after that maybe he'll come home. Would Kansas City actually trade anything for Clark?
As I mentioned previously I highly doubt that Denver would trade any players to a division rival, especially the Kansas City Chiefs. But they also aren't in a great place to reject offers, and if KC were to be the best offer, would they really turn it down?
