Who is playing Thursday Night Football?
By Matt Conner
We're nearing the midseason point on the NFL's regular season schedule as Week 8 is now upon us, and it's already been a very memorable season thus far with exciting contests, emerging stars, ascending teams, and dramatic storylines. The good news is that the trend should continue into Week 8 with an unexpectedly strong Thursday Night Football matchup.
Primetime should be reserved for the most exciting games, but on the surface, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers versus the Buffalo Bills in Week 8 looked like a lopsided affair back in May when the schedule was first revealed. These days, however, the Bucs are contending in the NFC South and the Bills remain one of the AFC's more formidable teams.
The Buccaneers and Bills make for a very interesting non-conference matchup to kick off Week 8.
Coming into Week 8, the Bills are going to be desperate for a victory after succumbing to the New England Patriots in a last-second defeat that shocked everyone in Week 7. Now at 4-3, the Bills are searching for answers to more questions than anyone could have guessed they would have. Then again, as long as they have Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, and company, they're going to be a hard out.
As for Tampa Bay, they're also smarting from a close loss to the Atlanta Falcons. With two consecutive losses, the Bucs need a win to turn things around before momentum robs them of their season-opening run to 3-1.
While non-conference games aren't nearly as important as others, this one is going to be a big win for one of these teams and it's a great way to kick off another week in the NFL.
