The Kansas City Chiefs have rounded the first month of the regular season schedule and have to feel pretty good about where the overall team stands at this point. The offense has started to click after a rough first couple of weeks to start the year. Meanwhile, the defense has been downright dominant in the season's early going. Together, it looks like Kansas City might have the most balanced roster since Patrick Mahomes took over the starting quarterback role back in 2018.

On Sunday, the Chiefs will stay on the road and head north for a non-conference game against the Minnesota Vikings. It's another game against a team that's facing an opposite scenaro of how the Chiefs have looked so far.

For the Vikings, 2023 has been an early season to forget with the team's defense struggling considerably to help the offense do any real damage to opposing teams. While the Vikings have some solid players on both sides of the ball, the overall talent and depth is not there (or the coaches aren't putting them in the right positions) to beat even vulnerable teams.

Perhaps it was telling when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers opened the season with a win over the Vikings. From there, things have only sunk deeper into the depths for Minnesota, and it's quite possible that another loss to K.C. in Week 5 could force the team to start thinking about the bigger picture than making a postseason push. That makes this game quite important for a Vikings team with the backs against the wall.
