The Kansas City Chiefs are in a dogfight with their hated rival, the Cincinnati Bengals, but the Chiefs took the lead in the third quarter in the funniest way. Down 16-10 about halfway through the third quarter, the Chiefs drove down the field and were set up in a goal-to-go situation.
Patrick Mahomes passed the ball to Wanya Morris for the go-ahead touchdown and Chiefs Kingdom went ballistic. You're probably thinking, "Wait -- Wanya Morris, the offensive lineman?" Yes, that's exactly who. Morris checked in as eligible and proceeded to catch the pass and score the touchdown.
Wanya Morris scores touchdown for Chiefs and everyone is loving it
When looking at all of the Chiefs offensive weapons, it makes it even funnier that Morris was the one to get the touchdown there. Mahomes could have thrown to Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, Travis Kelce, or handed off to Isiah Pacheco, but no -- Let's get the ball to the swing tackle!
Gotta love all of these crazy scenarios that Andy Reid comes up with. This isn't the first time he's cooked up something like this either, as he once had Dontari Poe once threw a touchdown pass on a Christmas Day game against the Broncos.
Now let's hope the Chiefs can hold off the Bengals and come away with a huge Week 2 victory to move to 2-0 on the year.
