Travis Kelce wants to keep Bill Belichick out of AFC West

If the Patriots are going to let Bill Belichick leave for another team, Travis Kelce doesn't think he'll have any shortage of suitors.

Just in case you thought Bill Belichick might have aged past his usefulness in the modern NFL, Travis Kelce has a message for you. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end has loads of respect for the longtime New England Patriots head coach and spoke about Belichick at length on the latest episode of his podcast, New Heights.

These days, the Patriots have a mere three wins on the books in a miserable season and the days of New England being a feared team around the NFL have disappeared. After a few years of watching Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe (among others) try to mimic the magic of the Tom Brady years, fans are getting restless in Foxborough.

Are they desperate enough to push Belichick out of town? It might be time. Sometimes a change of scenery is good for all parties involved—at least that's what the Kansas City Chiefs believe to be true about Andy Reid getting pushed out of Philadelphia back in 2012—and perhaps that's true for the Patriots and their future Hall of Fame head coach.

On the latest New Heights episode, the Kelce brothers—Jason and Travis—spoke about Belichick's status and Travis made it clear that he didn't Belichick in the AFC West at all. With the Las Vegas Raiders and L.A. Chargers both ready to hire new coaches, both teams will hope to alter their long-term trajectories with a healthy leadership change. But Travis is hoping for "some jabroni".

"Can we get like a young, never-heard-of college coach?" Kelce said. "I don't want a f--king good coach to come in the f--king my division, dude. Get the f--k out of here. I hope they f--king hire some jabroni, man."

Kelce has a good idea of what a refreshed accomplished coach can do with a new team so perhaps he's onto something here.
