Travis Kelce plays through 'little stinger' of elbow injury in Chiefs win over Patriots
By Matt Conner
The Kansas City Chiefs are dealing with a new injury in Week 15 after watching Travis Kelce leave the field grabbing his elbow/arm with some sort of injury.
Kelce was coming off of a fourth-quarter play in which he caught the ball and converted an 11-yard catch for a first down, but unfortunately, he winced in pain while he was down and needed some attention on the sideline from the team's training staff.
After the game, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid spoke to the media and gave a complete injury update. The only serious issue of note was not Kelce but actually wide receiver Skyy Moore, who was forced to leave the game with a swollen knee and will get further tests later on. However, Reid did say that Kelce suffered a "stinger" although he was able to finish out the contest.
Coming into the game, Kelce has been dealing with more injury concerns—even smaller ones—than usual in his career. He missed Week 1 with a bone bruise that was ultimately a one-point loss to the Detroit Lions. Kelce has also dealt with an ankle injury in the month of October that knocked him out of practice.
Coming into the game, the Chiefs were already down left tackle Donovan Smith, who has missed the last couple of games due to a neck injury, and running back Isiah Pacheco, who has missed two games with a shoulder injury that required a recent clean-up surgery. In addition, the defense was missing cornerback Joshua Williams on Sunday due to an illness over the weekend which made him a last-second addition to the injury report.
So far this season, Kelce has 85 catches for 924 yards and 5 touchdowns for the Chiefs.
