Travis Kelce jokes he was warned before taking White House podium
By Matt Conner
President Joe Biden had a good laugh with Travis Kelce during the Chiefs' visit to the White House.
Travis Kelce is always good for a memorable quote. That's a skill that apparently translates from a podium in St. Joseph during training camp to a podium in front of the White House press corps.
The Kansas City Chiefs had the rare opportunity to visit the White House as the defending champions in the National Football League, an invitation extended to every winning franchise in major sports leagues. For the Chiefs it was the second such invite in a row after winning back-to-back Lombardis, which meant the team was a bit more familiar with the process this time around.
Of course, that also means that the White House and President Joe Biden was more familiar with the Chiefs and how they might act. In the case of Kelce, it meant remembering his antics around a live mic and podium from a year ago:
Given Kelce's joke a year before, it made sense for White House officials to plan ahead. And clearly Kelce had been given instructions. Check out this hilarious and memorable moment from the Chiefs' visit to the nation's capital on Friday.
Maybe he meant "Tayzed".
