It makes sense that a football network needs as much live football as possible to fill the air times, which is why the National Football League announced a partnership on Thursday to host more than 30 live broadcasts from the spring-held Arena Football League on NFL Network.

Beginning in late April, on NFL Draft weekend, more than 30 Arena League games will be shown on the NFL's home in order to broaden the spectrum of coverage and provide exciting new content at a time when the NFL's own schedule slows considerably.

Just as the NFL's gears are winding down during the months of late spring and early summer, football fans will be able to appreciate the Arena League broadcasts to scratch that football itch.

Of course, the NFL will still cover its own product with plenty of post-draft content and analysis, further free agency signings, and the regular season schedule reveal in mid-May as well.

For those who've been watching, yes the NFL Network has been expanding its reach by getting into the broadcasting of some college football games, pre-draft exhibitions like the Shrine Bowl and Senior Bowl, and more.
