The best free agents still available for the Kansas City Chiefs

If the Chiefs want to continue shopping in free agency's second week, there are still plenty of good players remaining.

Defensive Line

Best Players Still Available: Mike Danna, Emmanuel Ogbah, Chase Young, Jadeveon Clowney, Teair Tart, Raheem Green, Calais Campbell, Dawuane Smoot

The Chiefs' defensive line has brought a lot of guys back from last season. That's not a bad thing, but with Charles Omenihu recovering from an injury and Mike Danna a free agent, they are still a little light up front on defense. My top choice would be to re-sign Danna (and maybe draft someone). If Danna is able to get more elsewhere, then bringing back Emmanuel Ogbah would be my second choice.

If you want a couple of less likely options who would be fun, Chase Young is at the top of that list. Young has elite upside but has been a real bust so far. As I've said several times in this piece already, Veach does love a reclamation project, but Young might be a more expensive one than they are looking to take on up front on defense after paying Chris Jones. Jadeveon Clowney is also likely too expensive but could help. Teair Tart is a player I really wanted KC to sign as a run stuffer, but after signing Mike Pennel and Derrick Nnadi I don't think he's very likely.

If K.C. wants someone with inside/outside versatility, Rasheem Green would be very Steve Spagnuolo-ish. So would veteran Calais Campbell if he wanted to chase a ring on a one-year deal. One last name to remember is Dawuane Smoot who played under defensive line coach Joe Cullen in Jacksonville and could be cheap after he had a down year last year while trying to recover from an injury.

Finally, let's talk about some cornerback options if the Chiefs do part ways with L'Jarius Sneed.
