Sometimes, no matter what a team does, another team just has their number. The Kansas City Chiefs aren't immune from this, as they have plenty of teams who frustrate them. Let's take a look at the five teams the Chiefs have the worst records against in the NFL, according to Pro Football Reference.

5. Buffalo Bills

  • Record: 21-27-1
  • Winning Percentage: .439

The Chiefs and Bills have become rivals in recent years thanks to Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen being two of the best quarterbacks in the league. While the Chiefs have had the last laugh by winning three Super Bowls in five years, the Bills actually own the head-to-head advantage. The Chiefs own a .439 winning percentage against Buffalo and have lost three straight regular-season games against them.

With that said, the Chiefs have knocked the Bills out of the playoffs in three of the last four seasons. This is one entry on here that won't bother Chiefs fans too much considering how much success they've had in spite of not being able to beat the Bills in the regular season. They win the games when they matter the most.

4. Dallas Cowboys

  • Record: 5-7
  • Winning Percentage: .417

Next up on the list, we'll shift gears to the NFC where the Chiefs own a .417 winning percentage against the Cowboys franchise. The two teams have only played 12 times since 1970 and the Cowboys hold a narrow advantage in the head-to-head match-ups.

The Cowboys have never won more than two games in a row against the Chiefs (1992 and 1995, which was when they were in the midst of their dynasty and again in 2005 and 2009) while the Chiefs have never had a winning streak against Dallas. They won the last match-up in 2021 so they have a chance to change that when the two teams meet up again in 2025.

3. Indianapolis Colts

  • Record: 9-14
  • Winning Percentage: .391

Chiefs fans might be surprised that the Colts aren't higher on this list because it feels like Indy is always finding a way to spoil things for Kansas City. The Chiefs own a .391 winning percentage against the Colts and even Patrick Mahomes hasn't been able to help them increase their head-to-head record against Indianapolis. In fact, five of those nine wins came when the Colts were still in Baltimore.

We all know how dominant Peyton Manning was against the Chiefs, losing just one game against them during his time in Indy. That run the Colts had with Manning helped stack the wins against KC but even with Manning out of the league and Mahomes in KC, the Chiefs still can't flip the script against Indianapolis. The Chiefs did knock them out of the playoffs during the 2018 season but that was their last win against the franchise.

2. Pittsburgh Steelers

  • Record: 12-22
  • Winning Percentage: .353

The Chiefs have had recent success against the Steelers but that wasn't always the case, as evidenced by their head-to-head record against Pittsburgh. They're 10 games under .500 against the Steelers with a winning percentage of .353.

From 2006 to 2017, the Chiefs won just two games against Pittsburgh with one of those losses coming in the playoffs. It's been a different story ever since Mahomes took over, with the Chiefs not losing a single game against Pittsburgh. Even with the three-game win streak, the Chiefs still have some work to do to try and even the score in this head-to-head match-up.

1. New York Giants

  • Record: 4-11
  • Winning Percentage: .267

The NFL team that the Chiefs have struggled against the most is the Giants, who they've won just four games against in 15 match-ups. Two of those wins have come during the Andy Reid era with the Chiefs beating the Giants in 2013 and again in 2021.

The Giants have put together win streaks of three games on two separate occasions and then had a four-game win streak against the Chiefs from 1998 to 2009. Now, of course, it's hard for the Chiefs to come close to evening things out here considering these two only play each other (typically) every four years.

The Giants have been bad in recent years so if there's a time for the Chiefs to make this record look a little less depressing, this is the time to do it.
