Charlie Phillips was already a Special Olympics hero, but shortly before his sendoff from his home in Savannah, Missouri to this year's World Games in Berlin, Germany, Phillips got a chance to meet another hero.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid paid a visit to Savannah as Phillips and others were heading out to Germany to participate in this year's Special Olympics World Games, which take place from June 17-24. Over 7,000 athletes in 24 sports from 170 countries will converge upon Berlin this year, and Phillips is hoping to bring home the gold medal in his chosen contest of power lifting.

When it came to Phillips' encounter with Reid, the Missouri native actually had a bit of a surprise for the Chiefs-centric send-off: he's an Eagles fan. A bit of hilarity ensued with the meeting, but Phillips knew the opportunity was still one that was "pretty cool."

Andy Reid's visit with a Special Olympics power lifter held a bit of a surprise for the Chiefs head coach.

Recently, Tim Tebow spoke to Phillips while on the ground in Berlin broadcasting from the World Games and got the full story. Phillips told Tebow about the overwhelming opening ceremonies and being able to meet Reid and others before he left.

From the video: "It felt pretty good, Tim. I told him I'm an Eagles fan. I touched the Lombardi Super Bowl Trophy and when they do this , I just stand there and when they said, 'How about those Chiefs?' I did nothing. But it was pretty cool to meet Andy Reid, Eric Stonestreet, and touch the trophy. That's pretty cool."

Phillips has competed in previous USA games for the Special Olympics in both 2010 and 2018 in a number of sports including basketball, flag football, powerlifting, soccer and short track speed skating.
