A star Baltimore Raven has issued a stern warning to one of the newest members of the Kansas City Chiefs following last night’s dramatic NFL season opener.
All-Pro linebacker Roquan Smith said new Kansas City tight end Peyton Hendershot “better watch himself” and that he will “see him when I see him” following a sideline incident late in the contest.
The altercation that drew Smith’s ire came four minutes into the fourth quarter, with the Chiefs up 20-17.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes picked up a key first down as he ran towards the sideline, but after being ushered out of bounds by Baltimore’s Marcus Williams, Mahomes was then knocked over completely by an apparent late hit from Smith.

There was no flag thrown on the play, even though the contact seemed to come well after Mahomes had stepped out of play.
The Ravens were overflowing with insecure statements following a loss to the Chiefs on Thursday night.
The Kansas City sideline was up in arms, with Hendershot particularly displeased with Smith’s actions. Hendershot, who was not active for the game, appeared to push Smith afterward—an action that prompted Smith’s warning after the game.

“He [Mahomes] flopped, that’s why the referees didn’t call it, it was a great no-call by the ref,” Smith said about the contact.
"“But whoever 88 is, I don’t know who he is, but he better watch himself."
“He did a little slick push. Whoever number 88 is, I have no idea who he is, but I’ll see him when I see him.”
Smith’s comments came after the Chiefs hung on late to earn a dramatic 27-20 win over the Ravens.
The result came by – quite literally – the slimmest of margins, with Isaiah Likely’s potential game-winning touchdown catch erased after the tip of his toe landed out the back of the endzone.
Smith wasn’t the only outspoken Raven after the game, with Likely and Lamar Jackson both making extraordinary comments. “This is probably the worst game we’re going to play all year, so if this is the best that they’ve got, I mean, good luck in the post season,” Likely said.
“If this is they best that they got…good luck in the postseason”

Surely this won’t backfire for Isaiah Likelypic.twitter.com/SoiILM6a5D
Likely had a great game. The third-year tight end went for 111 yards with a touchdown on nine catches and very nearly hauled in the game-winner, but those are bold comments, to say the least.
The Chiefs are two-time defending Super Bowl champions and have now beaten Baltimore in each of the Ravens’ last two games. Over their past 20 games, Baltimore is 15-3 against teams that aren’t Kansas City, and 0-2 against them. Jackson, meanwhile, is 1-5 against Mahomes in his career.
Jackson himself had some interesting comments too.
Despite missing two open receivers on the two plays prior to the game’s final play, and clear video evidence showing that Likely’s toe landed out of bounds, the reigning MVP shared an... interesting take in his post-game press conference.

“I thought it was a touchdown, I still think it was a touchdown… I think there were two feet in.”
😬😬😬
The Chiefs have a history of noting comments and slights made against them, and Baltimore might have provided Kansas City with some extra motivation for a potential playoff matchup in the future.
As the saying goes, confidence is quiet; insecurity is loud.
